So, we made it through the 20 hours of travel from Durham to Newport, Oregon. The boys were awesome. I love Northwest for having a tv in each seat for them to veg in front of...and at that point, I loved the fact that my kids are really into movies. :) They were able to pick their own movies -- Kung Fu Panda being at the top of their list.
We had some good times at the beach. My parents' house is so relaxing -- set in the woods with a view of the Pacific ocean (most days...it was a bit foggy when we were there). We looked through tide pools, hunted for fossils and agate on the beach, and visited the aquarium. It was the perfect balance of fun and relaxation (which I seriously needed).
Yesterday we traveled for 7 hours to my grandparents' house in Washington. I have to say that a car ride along the Columbia Gorge is not a bad way to travel with mountains and hills around you and the Columbia River next to ya...just a bit long. So, we're here hanging out with family (grandparents, aunt, uncle, cousins)...not much on the agenda (which is just fine by me!).
