Finally...some pics of the new house

from front gate

another view from gate

side garden
Ben wanted to ask if we could paint the front door until we realized that it had been recently painted. Yikes! The garage door matches. Double yikes!

kitchen
Brand new cabinets, counters, stove, and flooring. Awesome, except the fridge isn't in the kitchen. It's through that door with the washing machine.

lounge -- looking out onto side garden

another lounge view (no, fireplace doesn't work -- it's electric?!?!? without a proper plug)

dining room -- looks onto back garden (Elam calls it the birdwatching window)
Downfall of DR is that it isn't at all connected to the kitchen...you have to walk through the lounge and hallway.

bathroom to the left...toilet to the right
Great for boys when someone is in the shower. Not great for handwashing afterwards though!

We took the smaller bedroom.

The boys have the bigger room to fit all their books and toys in with them.

study

part of the really messy back garden -- my mom pulled out that massive pile of limbs just so we could walk back there

back garden with interesting lean-to conservatory with a moss carpeting -- Ewww!
It will take ages to clean that up so that it's usable.
There are also two 50-foot trees back here...so there really are loads of birds that hang out back here.

It's fun to see your new place. I love the quirkiness of older structures like that. It looks like home to you already!

Looks like a great little place. I'm lovin' the entry door color!

That was very nice of you to let the boys have the larger room. And I'm finding that bathroom setup a bit odd. "wash afterward" - what's with that! :)

I'm glad you guys found the place and that you seem to enjoy some of its benefits, even if you do have to go through a door to get to the fridge.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

I think your new home is so great! Sure, it has a few quirks, but a lot of character too. Your yard is AMAZING and has so much possibility.

We live in quirky housing too. We just came back from a quick overnight trip to a larger city and came home to find mushrooms growing out of our kitchen cabinet. Good times.

Oh yes, Eastern Journey, I probably should have taken the picture of the plant growing between 2 panes of glass. It's growing so well because of the greenhouse likeness! :)

Looks nice- much better than what I had envisioned after the phone conversations while your mom was there and you guys were just moving in. You guys did a great job! That bathroon setup is a little strange!

Glad you are settled. Congrats on your job Heather (even though that keeps you over there longer)!

Do I detect the "stained glass" bird pictures on the dining room window? ;D
