Grammy really wanted to go check out Lindisfarne before she left. It's a tricky place since you can only get on/off the island when the tides are right. We had to be on before 9.30am and couldn't get off until 2.30pm on the day we decided to go. We weren't blessed with the lovely weather we had in Belsay. It was windy and it was cold. We looked through the small museum about St. Cuthbert and Lindisfarne, we walked around the prioryand a prayer garden, and we checked out a church and lots of gift shops. Finally, we found warmth for a few hours in a lovely local pub (that even made Grammy a gluten-free lunch).
