All but finished...(I hope!)
This morning I sent off my thesis (dissertation) proposal to the two UK schools I'm applying to. The process is much more professor driven than committee driven, so you have to find a professor interested in your topic before you send in your application. So I've emailed them a couple of times about a month ago to get a general feel for their response to my idea (about a paragraph in length). Both responded positively, especially John Barclay at Durham--my top choice. So then I write up a draft of my proposal (about 12 pages), and have them review it, which is what I just sent. Based on comments they make I will update it before I send the final paperwork at the end of January. My hope is that they accept the draft with minor changes, so I don't have to do much extra work. We'll see. I plan to take a trip to both schools in February (probably by myself b/c of the cost). Then Heather and I will head to LA to visit friends, family, and Fuller Seminary in February as well.
