When I grew up Winter/Christmas breaks were about staying inside to play with our new Christmas toys and games (but mostly to stay warm). When we did venture outside, it was usually in snowsuits to make snow angels and have a snowball fight. Well... my kiddos have had quite a different experience being Texans. We have spent our break together outside in the 65-80 degree weather everyday. We have been to the park several times (you'll see that Silas learned to climb the 6-foot rock wall at the park near us -- quite an adventurer), played soccer on the lawn at the condo, jumped in piles of leaves, and we've had a few play dates at a ChickFilA with the outdoor playground. We have done a few indoor activities too. We've played some games (Elam has just learned to play Clue), read lots of books, done a science experiment, made cookies, etc.
Tomorrow we are venturing to the bowling alley to celebrate our last day of Winter Break. Elam goes back to school on Wednesday.
