with a local (Geordie is the term).
Geordie guy: Are you from America like? (***I really wish those of you back in the States could hear the accent)
Me: Yeah, from Texas.
G guy: Texas, Tennessee?
Me: No, just Texas.
G guy: Texas, Arizona?
Me: Dallas, Texas.
G guy: Ohhh...that's posh like!
I think he was having visions of JR Ewing...that's my guess anyway. :)
And before we all get too critical of his poor American geography, ask yourself if you know where Kent, Northumberland, or Wales is on a UK map...or even Durham??? :)

Good story. I'm not sure you'll find friendlier folk in England than geordies..That's my experience anyway.
Tis true...I've had a great experience working with the locals here.
I must confess I am so ignorant of British geography and terminology that I had to google the word "Geordie."
For those other ignoramuses like me: Geordie refers to a person from the Tyneside region in north east England, in particular the city of Newcastle and the adjacent areas, or to the dialect of English spoken by these people. Outside this region, the term Geordie is the popular choice in referring to anyone from the North East.
Oh, I can hear it girl! "like" and most people think we live in Whales, which of course is in England. hehehe
B's -- Great story! Could you e-mail it to Rob? He would think it's great...you don't have the feature turned on that allows me to do that, so I'm buggin' you to do it...thanx, mom
