Hair today, long tomorrow
I decided a while back that I wanted to be a mom that gave my kids choices...it's good for them to learn to make decisions...and it's good for them to make up their own mind. One of those decisions is the boys' hairstyles. Especially since I cut both boys' and Ben's hair, there's no expense issue that comes into play with the decision either. I'm not a huge fan of shaved heads on young kids (except when it comes to cutting it) but Elam has always loved his super short do. So when the clippers come out, I shave it (he's down to getting it cut on a 1 a the moment, btw). Well, Silas has pretty much had a standard little boy haircut...and has never been too bothered about his hair. He likes to spike it up when he can (the boys can't do it for school) but that's pretty much the only thing he's ever said about his hair. Until now. Two haircut times ago Silas was in a lousy mood and I wasn't too peachy that day either, so when he told me he didn't want his hair cut I didn't bother. Since then he's been talking about growing his hair out...to cover over one of his eyes (maybe like this here). I joked with him and told him that I thought it might impede his progress with learning to read because he'd only be able to see with one eye. He didn't think it was funny and was adamant about letting it grow out. So I only trimmed up around his neckline (because I might actually have an issue with him growing one of these) and his sideburns. So, here we go. 5 years old in a few weeks and already taking on his own style.

Love the title...hair style is certainly a very visible way to distinguish yourself from your older, egghead brother ;)
where's the picture?
Well, we're still growing it out.
Please no rat tail! That rocker look is in right now!
