Epiphany in a castle with a bishop and a camel

No kidding. Only in the UK, right?!?!?

Ben and I were invited to Bishop Tom Wright's castle in Bishop Auckland for 'Epiphany at Home'. We laughed along with a couple of other guests. It sounds like an intimate gathering around a fireplace with coffee and cake. Well, there was coffee and cake...several roaring fires...and about 100 people. Honestly, it was a great night. There was a camel (all the way from north London) and Magi to greet guests at the door, great food, Gallette des Roi, good conversation, beautiful music, and a compline service to end the evening. It was lovely to meet Bishop Tom and his wife Maggie for the first time. Ben has talked highly of them both since he began working with Bishop Tom.

Whoa! Talk about a memory! Not bad for your first Epiphany service, eh?!

Love the new look of your blog, by the way -- though I must confess I do miss the Cathedral.
