OK...I know a lot of people say this but for me it has always been true...I never win anything if there is a drawing, door prize, or raffle of some sort. Well, that was until a few days ago. On my scrapbooking retreat, they were planning to draw for door prizes at each meal. I made my "I never win at these things" type of comment during the first drawing. A lady near me said, "Oh yeah, famous last words..." Well...I won that drawing and actually another on the last day I was there. So now I am loaded with tons of new scrapbooking stickers. Apparently my drawing drought has changed.
So...on to today...I just received a call from the president of the PTA at Elam's elementary school. We are the lucky winners of a raffle prize that we entered last week. We seriously only put $20 towards the fundraiser for new computers at the school for that reason alone because of course when I entered I was a non-winner all the time. So, now we are the proud owners of a new PlayStation 2 gaming system. I also find this extremely hilarious because I am not a big fan of gaming. Elam has a 20 year old Nintendo Gameboy that I found stashed away somewhere a few months ago. That was enough for him because he doesn't know how much things have changed in graphics, etc. on those games. Since Elam "sold" me the winning ticket he also receives a $25 gift card from Best Buy -- to buy some games for his new PS2????
The other thing I find rather ironic about this new change of luck is that we are in the process of trying to get rid of everything...we WILL NOT be bringing a PS2 to England with us. (Maybe those will be my new "famous last words.") :)
