Even in the crazy Christmas season, I still feel the love

I think one of the most endearing things about Geordies (people from NE England) is how they address you -- 'love', 'pet', or 'flower'. I hear it all the time, especially with working at Tesco.
  • 'Can you tell me where the eggs are, love?'
  • 'Right, thanks pet.'
  • 'Where might I find the tomato puree, flower?'

I absolutely love it! And in this season, when stores are jammed packed (Tesco is a nightmare!) and people are starting to stress, it seems like things could get really ugly. But when I hear one of those terms, it nearly makes me forget how hard it is to work retail at Christmas. I'm definitely feeling the love. :)

This made me feel the love too. Thanks, flower! The most enduring term I hear is "foreigner" which gets a little old!
