Merry Christmas!

Here's our 2007 Christmas update:

Castles, knights, cathedrals, priories, pirates, the North Sea shore, ruins, Roman soldiers, Elizabethan walls, and Vikings…what an exciting year we’ve had in England. We’ve truly been blessed in this overseas adventure.

On our everyday life:
Ben is enjoying his PhD studies – mostly that involves loads of reading and writing, but he was able to study German in Berlin for the month of June. This fall he started facilitating a couple of undergrad New Testament classes. He’s also learned to enjoy rugby and cricket matches while keeping up with the NFL.

Heather is working part-time at Tesco (a huge retail/grocery chain here) as a personal shopper. She gets a real taste of the local NE England culture with all her co-workers and is also able to be at home with the boys four days a week.

Elam (age 7) continues to do very well in school. He’s also involved in several after school activities – he was a “mini-bud” (peer anti-bullying counsellor) last school year and is now in sports club, French club, and a monthly reading group. He and Silas have also recently started karate lessons.

Silas (age 4) started “nursery” (preschool) this year. Yes, he and Elam have a bit of a British accent now. Silas has dropped all the “r’s” at the end of words – his parents’ names are now Ben and Heath-uh. :)

You can catch up with all of our happenings and adventures on our family blog -- bhblackwell.blogspot.com. (That part you obviously know if you're reading it here!)

Merry Christmas from the Blackwells!
