Since my blogiversary happens to be in December, I figure it's a great time to do another year in review post (here's last year's). So, here is the first line of the first post of each month this year. We'll see how this sums up the past year...
- January -- We let Elam stay up for the first time last night to welcome in the New Year.
- February -- Ben and I watched Brassed Off last night and then Billy Elliott tonight.
- March -- When you should wear a logo t-shirt that says "Plants beware...I'm deadly", when your mother is taking a "Master Gardener"class (because this is easily attainable for her and her green thumb) but all those genes seem to have skipped over you, when you think that Tesco's "guaranteed to January 6th" statement is a lofty goal, when 9-12 year olds have caused a tropical plant drought and drownings over 4 years and then you kill it within 3 weeks over one summer, then there is complete happiness when you look at this poinsettia sitting in your kitchen on March 2nd. (BTW, that poinsettia is STILL alive!)
- April -- Since I have started working, blogging seems to have fallen off the radar a bit.
- May -- The boys and I went to an indoor playland just outside of Durham yesterday afternoon with our neighbor and her son.
- June -- Ben and I decided to go out on a (much needed) date tonight while my grandparents were here to babysit.
- July -- E will be 7 at the end of this month...so we decided to celebrate a month early with Mo and Papa while they were here.
- August -- Well, we've officially been in the UK for 1 year.
- September -- Ben and I were looking at a Jung test that led you to your MBTI type. A friend of ours has posted about it on her blog and we thought it would be fun to look at it again.
- October -- I've noticed over the past few weeks that I am understanding my 3 1/2 year old less and less. Is his language and/or vocabulary regressing? No, it's because he's in school with a class full of British kiddos and he's starting to sound like one!
- November -- Our next door neighbor (and one of the boys' best friends) moved last week.
And this is the first post of December. So there you have it. Nothing too extraordinary...but then again, I think that's been the success of this year in England -- we've found our groove here. It's a good thing!
