I have to say that living in the UK does not leave me missing many types of chocolate or biscuits (cookies) -- they all tend to just be better here (IMHO). But last fall my sis-in-law sent some Heath bars in the mail and I have to say that I do miss those. I especially miss this awesome chocolate Heath trifle that she makes for holidays sometimes. Anyway, last week someone from work handed me this small sweet (candy)...I popped it in my mouth...and my eyes almost bugged out when I realized that I was eating a Heath bar, of sorts. Turns out there are these fabulous Daim bars that are sold here -- about the same size as a Heath or in smaller bite size pieces. They are Swedish and, therefore, sold at IKEA. A friend took the boys and me up there the other day, so now I am having a Heath (well, Daim) experience with my instant cappuccino. :)
(The same friend told me that they are also available at Home Bargains, a little bargain store just a few blocks from our house.)

Ah...you are your mother's daughter...what I wouldn't give for a Heath or a Rolos right now (I've been working at the church office today, can you tell?!?!)!
I saw those at the convenience store by my office in Newcastle! Once a week I treat myself to something extra, and I spend about 7 minutes of my lunch break deciding which new package of crisps or sweets I get to try that day. It's amazing how long I can stand there and contemplate...
Last time it was 'soulmate cheeses' crisps and a candybar (an extra splurge) that ended up being a snickers but with hazelnuts instead of peanuts!
well now that is intersting news!!!
Nice! I'll have to check it out the next time we go to IKEA
We love the Daim at Ikea!
um... Tesco sells Daim bars.
They're in the section by the lunchbox sandwiches and single crisp packets.
I *love* them - used to eat them all the time when we first got them, some time in the mid to late 80s. They were called Dime bars at that point - I think yet another casualty of the internationalisation of our sweet selection (Marathon, Opal Fruits, etc).
A co-worker thought they sold them at Tesco, as well. We had a look there...and there were none to be found. Perhaps they were just out of stock at the time?!?!?
