Several weeks ago was Shoebox Sunday at our church -- we brought in our Operation Christmas Child shoebox and added it to the near 300 that our little church had collected. That Sunday morning our minister talked about the spirit of giving at Christmas and challenged everyone to think about giving up at least one present this year in order to give to a charity -- something that would help better the world we live in. Our boys took that to heart and after a few conversations, they decided to phone up their Grammy and ask if she would make a donation in their name as their Christmas present this year. After looking into a few options, the boys asked if she would buy shares of a yak for orphans in Tibet through Alternative Gifts International. They received their donation card through the post this week...and they are so pleased that they are making a difference in the world. Ben and I (and their Grammy) couldn't be more proud of them!

Such sweet faces! So glad they thought of it and that we were able to accommodate them...my favorite kind of gift. Smooches from grammy (>.<)
What a wonderful idea. It's terrific that the boys were moved to action. Many adults find it hard to take that step. Way to go guys!
Hugs to all
