Friday Night Fever

The boys' school had a disco on Friday night as a school fundraiser. From what I understand, they do this about once a term (about 3 times a school year). We all went over as a family. I had said that I would help and because I was there, Silas was allowed to come as well. Ben didn't want to be left out on the event, so he came along with us too. Most of the parents just drop their kids off...a few stayed. Essentially, there is a dj that plays lots of dance music (there was only 1 "slow" song) and he even teaches the kids some moves on a few of the songs. The whole school is invited from nursery (if the parents stay) to Year 6 kids. As the school has less than 150 kids, this is very doable.

Elam and Silas had a great time. Elam danced nearly the whole time with a few of his friends from his class. He only took breaks to go visit the table they had set up to buy drinks, crisps, and sweets. Silas found a girl from Elam's class that apparently has a high maternal nature. She let Sy chase her around the dance floor and she even helped him with some of the moves on the linedancing type songs that they had. Very fun night...we're looking forward to the next one.
