Pet sitting is a good thing

Ben always had animals around when he was growing up. So, to him, that is part of what childhood is supposed to be. I try to remind him that his parents were ultimately in charge and responsible for the pets in his house, so I think that it would be different if we were to get a pet when he is now in that position. Anyway, the boys have really been talking about getting some type of animal and honestly I am not keen on that idea. I have allergies to most of them, I know what kind of responsibility it would be, I don't need another mouth to feed on a limited budget, etc., etc. (I know...call me a sour puss if you like). So, I have rest assured in the fact that our rental agreement here had a clause that we were not to get a pet without written permission from the landlord.

This past week our boys (and Ben) took on the responsibility of pet-sitting their friends' rabbit and guinea pig. They have to go to their house (only 1 block away) to feed them and put them in their run each morning and then they go back to put them back in their hutch each night. Well, 1 week has worn them all down. No one is looking to get a pet in the near future. Like I said...pet sitting is a good thing! :)

That is hilarious! Pet sitting is most definitely a good thing. I have got the urge to get a dog before and living in apartment has always not allowed us too - after having vivien I dont' think i'm up for a puppy anytime soon!
