Silas is getting more verbal by the day. It cracks us up when he gets a whole thought out and we understand completely.
We were driving down the road and I reached for some tic-tacs. I took a few and gave a few to Ben. Silas and Elam both heard -- Silas started whining and Elam immediately said, "Can I have some tic-tacs, please?" I gave Elam a couple and then waited for Silas. After a minute or so, I reminded him that whining doesn't work and that he should ask me nicely (meaning say please). He said, "Give me one!" I waited..."Two!"... I waited... "ELAM HAD TWO!!!" While trying not to laugh I finally said, "The words you need to use are 'Two, please.'" In a very quiet voice he repeated me. Hopefully he will soon learn that please really is a magic word!
