Paytime for playtime

The boys and I went to an indoor playland just outside of Durham yesterday afternoon with our neighbor and her son. McDonald's don't have playlands here nor does any other place in the city centre (that we can walk to). So, it was quite a treat for the boys. This playland was attached to a 'travel inn' -- basically hotel, restaurant, bar, and playland all in one. Our neighbor had been to this one before and several others around England that are similar. She was shocked to find out that the fee for playing had gone from £1 to £2/kid. So, I spent the equivalent of $10 on an hour of playtime and one small Icee between the 2 boys. Wow! That definitely won't become a weekly activity!

Why can't there be more FREE places we can take our kids indoors to play?!? That drives me nuts. I find it frustrating that McDonalds and the Mall are the only places that have such things here in the States - I suppose it's good marketing. I hate being pressured by marketing.

Glad you had fun!!

Well, I hate to hear that. You have to pay to have fun I guess.

I have reviewed over all you posts to do some catching up since I have been a school hermit. Now, school is out and I am able to catch my blog up a bit too.

Love You Guys,
Cousin Cindy
