Last Thursday the boys' school was used for voting, so they were out of school. I took the opportunity to spend some *fun* time with them -- now that I work on the weekends, that time doesn't happen quite as often. I walked and they biked to a park that is about a 5 minute walk from our house. It took a bit longer because Silas crashed into a bunch of stinging nettles. He was trying to tell me that it didn't hurt. But after seeing the rash break out on his hand I convinced him we needed to go back and wash it before heading to the park.
The park has a great BMX bike sort of trail. Elam has become the expert at it. Silas just likes to push his little bike to the top of each hill and then fly down it. Too fun! After E's 10th time around, we went to the playground -- swings and a slide. We also played a bit of frisbee. E went back to do 3 more times around the track before heading home for lunch. It was a great morning.

Much more exercise than at a McDonald's playland...and you didn't have to pay! Wow, I had heard of "stinging nettles" but that is the first rash from them that I have ever seen...Yikes!
