When you have a kid with a December birthday, you sometimes have to get a bit creative. We have been wanting to get Silas a scooter and thought his *1/2 birthday* was a good time for that -- since he can actually use that in the summer in England -- plus it was a perfect time to celebrate while Mo and Papa were here (we'll be celebrating Elam's 7th bday a month early with them, too). So, yesterday he got a new spiderman scooter and a puzzle. We also had a great chocolate sponge cake with whipped cream and strawberries. Yummy!
It wasn't all fun though. The night before Silas was sick (hmmm...seems to be a theme here) -- the bonus is that in 6 months he now knows to run to the toilet! Yay! So he only got about 15 minutes of scooter riding in before I made him come inside and rest some more.
So, one 3 1/2 year old and another that will be 7 next month...where has it all gone???

You guys are creative...what a great way to have Mo and Papa be there for one of Silas's birthday celebrations! The scooter looks like it can be used to run off lots of energy;)
What a fun time. And a "cool ride". Between scooters and bikes, them boys have some pretty hot wheels!

a good reminder to celebrate all the time ... :) And, we just got a NIB scooter from freecycle that we haven't given to Sam yet. Maybe tomorrow. :)
