- Ben returned the rental car yesterday, so last night we all walked to the store for groceries. Since our fridge and cupboards (there isn't a pantry here) were bare, we needed quite a few things. We got the smaller of the "trollies" to fill up. Luckily we are only 2 blocks from Tesco so we arrived home easily.
- I took another trip to Tesco today for a clothesline. We have a washer that also dries, but it is TINY! It takes about 1 1/2 hours to wash a load and then you have to remove half of the load to dry what's in there. Then dry the other half an hour later. 3 1/2 hours to do a small load is way too much. So we successfully hung a clothesline across the yard tonight and we will try it out tomorrow.
- We bought tea and bisuits at the store yesterday. :)
- We made a big trip to IKEA the other day -- which isn't really English per se but we bought a few items that you probably don't find in the American IKEA stores. We bought light covers...basically lamp shades that you hang from a wire hanging out of the ceiling with a light bulb on the end. We also bought a silverware set that have knives, one size of forks, big spoons, and "tea"spoons. They are tiny little things that you can't do anything with but stir tea. :)
We are loving our new house...just working on getting settled. We get our phone turned on Wed. morning and the TV people will be out next Sun. We will get our DSL from the same company as our satellite TV service but they said we have to wait to get hooked up to the TV first to become customers. So...it may be another 2 weeks until we have "normal" internet service.
