The boys are eagerly awaiting Christmas. Grammy had sent them a little Advent devotional and craft book. We've managed to work the devotional into our schedule each night but we haven't done any of the crafts yet...I suspect some of those will be fun to do when the Christmas break comes around. They made a paper chain (this has become a yearly tradition) -- they take one link off each night so they can see the chain getting shorter and shorter the closer we get to Christmas. We also found a Scooby Doo advent calendar...we couldn't pass that up. They alternate taking turns...one night Sy gets to do the calendar and E pulls the link off the chain and then the next night they switch.

I remember doing the "Christmas Chain" when I was little. It was always so much fun. My dad also had a hanging calendar that had peppermints in it for each day counting down to Christmas. That was always fun too.

What a great idea! I love the shrinking paper chain idea! We were sad to hear you had a sick birthday boy this week. Hope all are healthy now.
