Our Christmas Star

OK, So I have to start this blog with a bit of whining (even though I tell my boys to never do it!)...our digital camera stinks! I tried to get about a million pics of Elam this morning and they all showed up too dark. I have to find the booklet to see how to resolve this issue...it is just so frustrating! Who has time to figure it out when they need to take a really important picture! Enough complaining...now to the real bit...

Ben, Silas, and I were all able to go see Elam is his school's Christmas production this morning. Elam was a silver star along with the rest of the kids in his class. They sang several songs, did a little dance, and he even had a few individual lines. He did very well and was smiling through the whole thing. Well done, Elam! You're a true star!

A star! A star! Shining in the east...How I wish I could have been there to see that...I'm sure his smile was just as bright as his costume...ok, I am glad that you are reading the instructions...the dark pictures will be remedied at last! (I, too, don't like to whine ;-)

What kind of camera is it? Our camera has several different settings that help it to adjust to different kinds of light. Last week, Caleb tried to take indoor pictures with the "night" setting, and they were terrible! The shutter speed was way too slow. Sometimes, the more automatic versions are *too* smart.

I think I figured it out...now I feel like I need to go back to the dark school auditorium and have another go at it to see if the problem is really fixed.

It's a Nikon Coolpix...I liked our Canon one better (it was just so big!)
