We took a quick trip to London with Grandma and Grandpa. We left early on Wednesday morning and took the train down...checked into a hotel...took a sightseeing tourbus around London to all the famous sights...ate a very nice dinner (Happy Birthday Ben!) at the National Gallery...walked around Westminster Abbey, Parliament, and Big Ben* the next day...said goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa...tried to spy the changing of the guard ceremony through a throng of thousands...took a tour on a Thames riverboat...jumped back on another tour bus...ate at McDonalds!...headed home via the train. It was a great trip. We plan to do it again before we leave England -- try to hit some of the museums and things -- but not until Silas is completely out of his stroller. It is too hard to get around the Underground with that thing!
* That would be the famous clock tower in London...not my husband now that he is all grown up. ;)

Great pictures. Looks like y'all had a terrific time and just wore them boys out! We hope Ben had a terrific birthday! You look great in your wooly hat! It's a nice picture of you and the boys.
All those Blackwells in hats! Now, that's a miracle!! Your hat is especially spiffy, Heather! Your pictures are much better than the "Walking Tour of London" we made when you were in high school!
It doesn't take long in the cold, the wind, and the damp to realize that a hat makes a big difference. You end up with really bad hair days but hey, I'd rather be warm!
