Family Fun & Computer Craziness

I've been wanting to get back on here to post some pics from Saturday night. Silas called it our "family fun" activity. The boys had heard on "Family Fun" radio on Sky TV about how to make homemade butter. I had to make a Tesco run that afternoon, so they asked if I would pick up some double cream. That night we filled an empty jar 2/3 full and started shaking. You can hear the cream sloshing around as you shake during the first part and when you don't hear sloshing anymore you have whipped cream. Keep shaking after this point and eventually it will start sloshing again -- that's when the buttermilk has separated from the butter. You pour off the milk and rinse the butter in cold water...then knead the butter with spoons to pour of more of the milk. It turned out to be very fun and it's always great to have a cool finished product (especially one you can eat).

Anyway...back to the "wanting to post pics" part. Our desktop computer is messed up so I can't post pics to the blog. We don't have a phone line in the study, so he have a wireless network set up with the desktop and Ben's laptop. Apparently the wireless adapter that we have on the desktop is not cooperating at the moment -- so I can't get emails through that or get on the internet. So, we are either going to have to invest in a new adapter or run a cable from our bedroom to the computer in the study. Neither seems like a great option at the moment. I just keep thinking that just maybe the computer will fix itself when I turn it back on -- HA! So until we come up with a solution I will just have to steal Ben's laptop on occasion and do "pictureless"posts.
