Although people in the UK are healthier (see entry below), it seems that we'll get to pay more to live there. With the US economic policy and spending habits the dollar is headed south versus the pound, which means for each drop it will cost more dollars to buy goods in England. One huge blessing in all this is that my fellowship living stipend is (obviously) in pounds, so that means we won't have to transfer as many dollars to live on or pay tuition. Once Heather obtains employment, Lord willing, the majority of our finances will be independent of the dollar slide. So, overall, this shouldn't hit us too bad but it will make our initial move a little more expensive. But we also got a small blessing today with an unexpected deal to rent a mini-van from an Avis ad. That should save us about $200 and give us plenty of space to haul all those bags from the airport! We previously could only find a car for such a reasonable price.
